Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian Steps Down, Anne Rohosy Named Interim President

On June 25 2026, Gibson, Inc. announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Cesar Gueikian will relinquish day‑to‑day duties effective July 31 2026. The historic American guitar maker said Gueikian will remain on the board as a strategic advisor and will continue to serve as a global artist ambassador.

Gueikian, who joined Gibson in 2018 and was confirmed as permanent CEO in July 2023 after an interim period, will step back to focus on artist relations, a role that aligns with his long‑standing passion for musicians. He cited the company’s renewed emphasis on quality, product integrity and cross‑genre collaboration as key achievements during his tenure.

Anne Rohosy, Gibson’s Chief Commercial Officer since 2025, will become interim President and CEO. Rohosy’s appointment follows a broader transition plan designed to keep leadership stable while the board hires an executive‑search firm to identify a permanent successor.

Executive Chairman Nat Zilkha praised Gueikian’s “transformative leadership,” noting that he “has played an important role in rebuilding the foundation of the Company.” Zilkha added that Gueikian’s decision to dedicate himself to artist relations reflects his enduring commitment to musicians.

Rohosy, who previously directed Gibson’s commercial strategy across wholesale, direct‑to‑consumer and retail channels, said her priority is “connecting with customers and growing the Gibson name.” She emphasized her intent to work closely with Gueikian, the board and the wider leadership team to preserve continuity.

The press release highlighted how Gueikian deepened Gibson’s ties with its artist community and reinforced a “quality‑and‑product‑first” philosophy. Guitarist, songwriter and producer Slash, a long‑time collaborator, praised Gueikian for prioritizing instruments and safeguarding the brand’s legacy.

Under Gueikian’s guidance, Gibson recovered from a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2018, refocused on its core guitar business and expanded its global footprint. Initiatives such as the Gibson Artist Spotlight program strengthened brand visibility and reinforced the company’s commitment to musicians.

Rohosy brings more than three decades of experience from global consumer brands, including Levi Strauss & Co. and Nike. Prior to joining Gibson, she held senior roles at Gibson Amplifiers and led organizational transformation and culture initiatives.

Founded in 1902 by Orville Gibson, the company has produced iconic instruments such as the Les Paul and the SG. Its history includes periods of ownership by Chicago Musical Instruments, Norlin Corporation, and a 2018 acquisition by a private‑equity group led by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.

The leadership transition is intended to keep Gibson’s operations running smoothly while the board searches for a new CEO. The interim period will allow the company to maintain its focus on product quality, artist partnerships and market expansion.

As of July 31 2026, Gueikian will serve as a board member and strategic advisor, while Rohosy will steer the company as interim President and CEO. The board has not yet announced a timeline for the permanent CEO search.

The announcement reflects Gibson’s ongoing effort to balance its heritage with contemporary market demands, ensuring the brand remains relevant to musicians and consumers worldwide.
