Debbie Linn Announces Retirement After 15 Years as Leadership Music Executive Director

Debbie Linn, the Executive Director of Nashville‑based non‑profit Leadership Music, has announced that she will retire after a 15‑year tenure. Linn will continue in the role through 2027 to allow the organization to conduct a smooth leadership transition.

Linn began her career in the music industry in California and spent 17 years at Sony Music in New York and Nashville before joining Leadership Music in April 2012. During her time at the organization, she has overseen significant growth, strengthened the financial foundation, expanded alumni engagement, deepened industry partnerships, and guided more than a dozen Leadership Music classes.

"Serving as Executive Director of Leadership Music has been the honor of my professional life," Linn said. "This organization has never been just a job to me—it has been my passion and my purpose. The organization, founded in 1989, is a 501(c)(3) that offers an eight‑month immersive program designed to cultivate a forward‑thinking community of leaders in the creative industry. Alumni participate in ongoing educational sessions, social mixers, the Dale Franklin Awards, and community volunteering.
