Wavemakers Women & Music Launches Online Community Platform for Women Over 40

Wavemakers Women & Music, a global platform that supports women 40 and older in music and related creative fields, has launched a new online membership platform called the Wavemakers Community. The launch, announced on July 31 2026, adds networking, professional resources, creative collaboration and business opportunities to the organization’s existing events and educational programs.

The Wavemakers Community is structured around four membership levels. The base level, Community Member, is free and gives access to discounted tickets for Wavemakers events, early registration for workshops and courses, and the upcoming Remedy podcast. Paid tiers include Artist, Affiliate and Apothecary. Artist members receive consideration for placement on the Wavemakers Agency roster, access to paid performance, licensing and brand partnership opportunities, a curated professional resource library, and full participation in the Wavemakers Circle community. Affiliate members are business owners and professionals who support women through music; they receive a custom referral code, a 10 % commission on new memberships, and full community access. Affiliate members can upgrade to Trusted Ally status, which allows them to speak on the Remedy podcast, appear at live events and teach courses in the Remedy Learning Hub, with shared revenue opportunities. Apothecary members, who are not musicians or business owners, gain full access to the Remedy podcast, early ticket access for events and entry to the Trusted Ally Directory.

In addition to the membership tiers, Wavemakers has introduced a Partner Program. The program is designed for brands and organizations that want to engage the community through collaborations, brand partnerships and online educational courses. The program emphasizes shared values over sponsorship, aiming to create authentic relationships between women artists and companies that support women over 40.

The platform’s founder, Austin‑based musician and entrepreneur Lurleen Ladd, said the community’s focus is on a reciprocal economy. “It’s not transactional. It’s a reciprocal economy where every member’s creativity, wisdom, and experience are valuable assets,” Ladd told reporters. The Wavemakers Community is intended to provide infrastructure that the music industry has historically omitted for women in their most influential years.

Wavemakers was founded in 2023 and had a soft launch in December 2025. By the time of the platform launch, the community had grown to more than 300 members, representing a combined artist reach of over 2.2 million. The organization describes itself as a marketplace for booking, licensing and artist development that relies on reciprocity and shared assets.

The new platform will host a range of features that support the community’s mission. Members can network with peers, access professional development resources, collaborate on creative projects, and explore business opportunities such as performance bookings, licensing deals and brand partnerships. The Remedy podcast, which will be available to all members, is part of the platform’s educational and networking strategy.

Wavemakers’ launch comes at a time when the music industry is increasingly recognizing the need for inclusive support structures. Women over 40 have historically been underrepresented in the industry, and the Wavemakers Community seeks to address that gap by offering a dedicated space for professional growth and collaboration.

The platform is available online at wavemakerswomen.com. Interested parties can explore membership options and learn more about the Partner Program through the site.

The launch of the Wavemakers Community marks a significant expansion of the organization’s services and provides a new resource for women in music and related creative fields. The platform’s focus on reciprocity and community-driven opportunities positions it as a potential model for other niche music communities seeking to support underrepresented groups.
