What is a Eurorack?

Eurorack is a standardized format for modular synthesizers that defines the size, power connections, and mounting system used for individual synthesizer modules. It allows modules from many different manufacturers to be installed in the same modular system and connected together to create custom sound synthesis setups.

Eurorack systems consist of a case or rack, a power supply, and a collection of modules such as oscillators, filters, envelopes, sequencers, and effects. Each module is mounted in the rack and connected using patch cables, allowing musicians to route signals between modules and design unique sound paths.

The Eurorack format has become one of the most popular modular synthesizer standards because of its flexibility and large ecosystem of compatible modules. Thousands of modules from many manufacturers are available, making it possible for musicians and sound designers to build highly customized synthesis systems tailored to their creative needs.
